Backdrops are great ways to
bring colors to the field and show. If your
show is a little misunderstood, or if the concept
is hard to get across, a backdrop can help your
ideas come to life.
One way to put up back drops
is to use PVC pipe and connectors to build a
backdrop frame, then use fabric to create color or
paint pictures on the fabric.
Need help designing your
backdrop? Ask the Theater or Art department
at your local college or high school to come up with
something perfect!
To transfer your backdrop
design from paper to a large cloth backdrop, a
good idea is to use a transparency projector.
Simply copy your design onto a transparency sheet
(using a copy machine) then hang your backdrop
fabric against a wall, then use the projector to
project your image onto the backdrop. Now
take a marker or pencil and trace the projected
image onto the backdrop fabric. Voila! a
perfect backdrop transfer.
